McKesson Self-Sealing Sterilization Pouches provide a practical packaging solution for reusable medical, dental, and surgical instruments requiring steam or ethylene oxide (EO) gas sterilization. Measuring 8" x 16", these disposable pouches accommodate appropriately sized instruments and support organized instrument preparation, processing, and storage.

Each pouch combines white medical-grade paper with a transparent blue film that allows healthcare professionals to visually identify packaged instruments and inspect the packaging for damage. The self-sealing adhesive closure provides convenient preparation without requiring a heat-sealing machine or additional autoclave tape.

The pouches incorporate internal and external chemical process indicators to help distinguish packages exposed to steam or EO sterilization processes. The steam indicator changes from blue to dark, while the EO indicator changes from pink to brown. These indicators provide visual confirmation of process exposure but do not independently establish sterility.

Made with lead-free indicator ink and without natural rubber latex, these single-use pouches are suitable for professional instrument processing workflows in hospitals, dental practices, ambulatory surgery centers, physician offices, and sterile processing departments.

Ordering & Packaging: Available individually (EA/1), by Box (BX/200EA), or by Case (CS/5BX/200EA). Each box contains 200 sterilization pouches, and each case contains five boxes, totaling 1,000 pouches. Minimum ordering unit: 1 Each.

Warnings

FOR PROFESSIONAL INSTRUMENT STERILIZATION USE.

  • Pouches are supplied nonsterile and are intended for packaging instruments before a compatible sterilization process.

  • Use only with steam or ethylene oxide (EO) sterilization processes authorized by the manufacturer.

  • Follow the sterilizer manufacturer's instructions and the healthcare facility's validated sterilization procedures.

  • Select an appropriately sized pouch to allow adequate sterilant penetration and proper sealing.

  • Inspect the pouch before use. Do not use packaging that is torn, punctured, damaged, or otherwise compromised.

  • Position instruments carefully to prevent punctures and avoid overloading the pouch.

  • Ensure the adhesive flap is properly folded and sealed without gaps or wrinkles that may compromise package integrity.

  • Follow facility protocols for sterilization chamber loading, cycle selection, processing, and drying.

  • Verify internal and external chemical process indicators after processing. Indicator color change confirms exposure to the designated process but does not independently establish sterility.

  • Inspect processed packages for dryness and seal integrity before storage or use.

  • Do not use a processed pouch if the packaging becomes wet, opened, torn, or otherwise compromised.

  • Store unused pouches in a clean, dry environment protected from excessive moisture, dust, and direct sunlight.

  • Single-use product. Do not reuse sterilization pouches.

Read and follow the current McKesson Instructions for Use and applicable institutional sterilization protocols.
